Oliver side dresser

I found a side dresser unit, for a pipe frame cultivator. I beleive it might have gone to a 66 tractor. Anyone know of these?

Kinda. Dad had a 2 row mounted planter with fertilizer. The legs that went on the cultivator so you could use the fertilizer units to sidedress layed here in the old garage when it burned back in about 62. He never used it to sidedress though,so those legs were brand new when they went up in the fire. He used the cultivator and planter on a 66 because that's what he had the axle sprockets for. I would imagine those sprockets were available for the larger axles on a 77 and others too. They were a two piece sprocket that bolted around the axle, then ran the seed and fertilizer with a long flat link chain.

rrlund I had to look your IP address up to make sure you werent from texas. I parted out a real early 66 that had those sprockets bolted onto the axles. I was thinking if your IP came back to Texas that it might have been your dads but youre quite a ways from the south.

Ya,I'm from Michigan.
Do you still have those sprockets? I've got the planter here yet and would like to have a pair for the 66 I have now. We sold the old one to a parts yard and didn't even consider that we might want those. I stopped in 10-12 years ago to the place where we sold it to see if they were still there. One was,but they had pulled the other axle, didn't know what ever bacame of the sprocket.

email's open.

I didnt take them off before the frame went to the scrapper. But our scrapper isnt the fastest guy in the world. I will go out there this weekend and see if that chasis is still sitting out there for the heck of it. I will let you know what I find out.

Sounds like what i have. It doesnt appear that i have all of it, bad most of a two row system. There are two of the large gears and lift handles, one sqaure hopper and alot of shanks, shovels and small stuff. Also included were 2 sets of planter plates, a pair of gauge wheels and a row marker. dont see how theplates would work as a seeder, but io dont know what an oliver plate looked like either. I'll haveto get a picture posted here someplace and maybe someone will know the model.
