Oliver 70 40" rears

I am needing new rears for my 70. It currently has the 40" cast rims on it. To my knowledge the only 40" tire available is a 9.5 X 40. The tractor currently has 11 X 40. Will the 9.5's work?

What am I missing?

Also, I have read the Oliver 70 RC came with 11 X 38's. Were the 40" an option?

9.5s will work just fine. Those rims aren't much more than six inches wide.
The second one my uncle had around here had 8x40 duals.

I have been told that 38" rims will mount to the 40"
cast centers , 40 inch rims have a drop center as
the 38" do not, do not if its true I have never
researched it.
