550 exhaust

I have a 550 gas. The muffler and pipe were pretty much shot when I got it. I"ve replaced both. I have moved the muffler discharge port up and down with the exhaust pipe in it to the only position that allows the original (I think) clamp will attach to the hood bracket. This all works however the exhaust pipe is leaning at a significant angle and just looks funny. I think it should point straight up but can"t seem to find a way to make that happen. Do I need to take, the pipe to a muffler shop and have an additional bend put in it or am I just doing something wrong?

What I have done is get a short extension and put between the muffler and exhaust manafold. This allows the muffler to move ahead just enough to allow the exhaust pipe to go straight up.

Is it leaning forward or back? Or side to side? My new one leans in toward the hood and there doesn't seem to be much I can do about it. I got it from the usual place where a lot of us get those Olivr parts, and I've gotta tell you,I'm usually satisfied with the quality, but I was pretty disapointed with that pipe. Looks like they just had a bunch of them bent up in volume at a muffler shop.

I have got several mufflers from korves and the one i got for 550 did not work right either. I have not put them side by side. I also got one for a super 55 that i had to cut down. I believe it is a stanley muffler issue

It's an issue with the Stanley muffler. Had the same problem with my Super 55. The inlet is shorter that the Nelson muffler. I made a spacer tube at work to take even things out.
