I have a88 oliver with complete new motor, that has very low oil presure. can anyone tell me how to increase it and how much it should have. It is new gauge, it puts alittle oil up to rocker arms. THANKS IN ADVANCE

normal oil pressure is about 15-16 psi. there is a plug on the right front of the block with a spring and plunger-this is the pressure regulator-adding shims between the plug and spring will increase pressure

What oil filter base do you have, aluminum or cast iron? The older aluminum bases had a habit of the stem that goes in the filter would come out of the base. Behind that stem is a restrictor disk with a small hole in it. It would become lost. If that disk is missing you will have low oil pressure as well.

may I ask if you know the size of that hole , I pulled the oil filter yesterday and the stem and that restrictor were missing on a super 55

Would have to check Fleetline srevice manual but .062" is what I remember.

Check your new gauge and make sure it's calibrated for low pressure.
