were not working to hard on this but sofar things are moving along . We have the new flywheel just one tiny little snag there is the starter ring gear , we have two choices here (one that came with the donor engine is a 126 tooth ) the one on the NEW flywheel is a 156 teeth i think , sorta forgot at the moment .So we are at this time looking into either a different starter drive or new starter . The next hurtle is fan hub as the one on the engine is 12 inches from center of crank , the one on the herc is 16 inches from center, just solved that problem with a call to the Come A Part store and the fan hub we need is setting on his desk. This is way to easy to the point it has to be illegal. Like i said we are not working on this real hard and we are only doing about three or four hours a day and lots of talking and not much work. The rear lifting bracket will have to come off the engine as it hits the fuel tank and we will have to trim the ft drive axle support a whisker for pan clearance . Forgot the camera the other day but i will get some shots . |

| Other than lot's of power, those 8.3's vibrate something fierce. They like to break the timing covers, I found. |

| IF they do that then change the harmonic balancer . They do go bad and the way to tell is they start to move is when you install a new one place a couple center punch markes on it one on the inner part and one on the outer and make sure that they are inline with each other , then ya keep and eye on it and when it moves replace. |
