77 crank vs. super 77 crank

I need to know the difference between a crank from a super 77 and the crank from a 77. Can I use a 77 crank in a super engine? or a super crank in a 77 engine? I believe the casting number from a 77 crank is 185111 and the casting number from a super 77 is 186311. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

All right, what are you trying to do? First of all a 77 crank has 2.000 crankpins. A super 77 crank has 2.250 crank pins. so each engine uses diferent connecting rods. Next question: Are both cranks for gas engines or diesel engines. If you need one for a diesel you need a diesel crank. You can put a diesel crank in a gas engine, but not the other way around.

I have a super 77 gas engine that had a bad crank. well a ended up getting a 77 gas crank. I'm wanting to know if I can safely use the 77 crank in the super block. I realize I'll have to get the rods for the 77. This is going to be a parade show tractor.

What happened to your old crank? I would have thought by now someone would have asked about your old crank so they could off-set grind it for a stroker motor to go pull.

I could use a super crank to stroke , i'd just as soon use a wrn out one instead of wrecking a usable one unless the journals are blue. I have a ph.number of a guy that has a usable super crank.

I'll be there unless I am either too sick to attend or dead! I need one for the 77 I am working on. I just hate to use a good crank that someone else could use for their farm tractor. Please send me an email at [email protected] with your phone # and we can talk about it.
