Here's a picture of a 1973 Oliver 550 I am looking at. Current owner is asking $4,600.00.Located South of Battle Creek. Wants an extra $250.00 for the swinging drawbar assembly.
What do you think? Too Pricey or is he in th ballpark? Many new parts and recent engine overhaul. You know more about Oliver's than me,.I am a Ford Guy.You can e-mail me with your comments and questions or say what you think on this post.

On a 73 with power steering,in that kind of shape, yes,I'd say right in the ballpark. About right on the drawbar too.
Sumerix Equipment up in Lachine had a 75 a few yers ago in super nice shape. They were asking $7500 for that one.
Make sure you get the brackets that bolt to the rear axle for the drawbar,I don't see them on there in the pictures.

Thanks for the info. Owner says he has the COMPLETE drawbar set-up. I"ll be sure to ask about the brackets. I assume it has live pto or independent pto. 5-speed or six speed tranny? It does have remote hydraulics.

Seems pricey, but it sure is awful pretty- Guess its one of those deals where if you can afford it, go for it- you probably won't find one nicer.

But at that price, he sure should throw in the drawbar.

My 550 diesel is going in the shop this spring- has drawbar, PS, and remote, but just about everything needs some work. Will be looking at that price when I'm done, but don't know how much I'll be into it by then. Will probably end up keeping it- if I get it to where my wife can start it without holding her mouth right, she probably won't let me sell it.

Independent PTO,6 speed and two reverse.
I'm not seeing the remote valve. It should be visable in the picture just ahead of the seat on the right hand side.

In my opinion that's a very fair price for that nice of a tractor. Fair price for the drawbar. I am in the process of restoring a 1966 550 and will have for more than $5000 in it when its finished. Just my 2-cents worth.

Got to look at what it will cost to get it to you also. Will you have to truck it and at what cost?

Seems like a great deal to me. I"ve seen many bring $3500+ in their tired work clothes. We have always had one on the farm. Great tractor!

Mismatched rear tires are a downer and will turn some people away. My personal take is if the guy was OK with not putting two of the same tire on to make it 100%, what else did he skimp on.

Have you looked at it in person. The pictures are at a distance where a just throw it on paint job will look good.

I'd try and get him down to $4k.
