1948 60 Standard Cannery Tractor??

Hi Can anyone tell me if Oliver everymade a cannery tractor that had a faster speed than others. Mine has a 5 speed trany and will do about 17 mph. I have 12.4x24s on it.

Thanks Bob Frazier

I have both the Oliver 60 Standard and the 60 Industrial, both are five gear combinations and are 47s.  The Industrial was a highway mower tractor with a mid mounted sickle bar mower.  Like yours it will go down the road at a good clip as compared to the standard.
I have studied the parts book and have not been able to determine any different gears.  Fifth gear is acomplished by two gears between input shaft and pinion shaft.   They are located under the additional cover in front of the transmission thus it might be easy for someone to make different gears.  Those highway workers didn't want to be late for coffee or going home time!

I have both a 1944 and a 1948 Oliver 60 Standard Tractor. The 1948 will run much faster in 5th gear than the 1944.
