Can someone send me the specs for tightening down the head bolts on a 1655 diesel. How many ft pounds torque you start at and how many steps up. Also the pattern for tightening the head bolts.
Please and thank you
Todd

I would need to double check on the torque as some of the specs were not correct when they were published. I always used 4 steps with the step being smaller than the last step I start at about 35 pound feet. I always used the minimum torque and then when I run the engine to get it to operating temperature and then retorque I go to the maximum torque. What did you do to the engine that you need to change the head gasket/ If it is not too late I would have put seats in the head and set the valve protrusion to the correct specs. I can snail mail you the sequence chart. I can not scan for a couple of weeks.

If its no trouble John please mail me the specs and pattern. Also include what you r to set the valves at. It is not my tractor its my uncles. The head gasket was leaking. I'll pass on the valve protusion and seats on to them. My mailing address is:

Hey get me an e-mail address. Several years ago I made a check list of items to check if you had a head gasket failure. I could e-mail that and you can check items while you are waiting. Mail from U. S. to Canada is not 2 or 3 day service. J.
