I"ve all but given up on finding a new mechanical fuel lift pump. I think that replacing it with an electric is probably my best and only option. If I do add an electric pump what type of pressure range does it need to have? I see several options for pumps in the 3 to 5lb range but don"t know if that is the correct pressure.

I have some used lift pumps----Give me a call at 903 729 8349 or my email is open
Thanks

I use a 10 psi pump or close to it. You need more preasure to push the fuel past the filters.Eletric works good you can bleed filters with the switch on and no diaphram to leak into the oil.Useually have to order one as the parts places don't stock that psi.

Wengers 800-451-5240 lists a lift pump on their web site for a 1755 diesel for $87.50 and in stock. When I wanted a lift pump for my 77 gas I bought one for a 1850 gas and it fit and worked just fine, so I think the one for the 1755 will work for your S55. Those guys at Wengers won't know if it will work or not. Check their return policy and try it. Good luck, Chuck

Chief, I just went out and put that 1855 gas lift pump on my 550 and it fit perfect, so that 1755 pump should fit your S55 just fine. Chuck
