I need to adjust the pto on a cockshutt 40. It slips under load. I understand you remove shims to help with this. I would appreciate any diagrams or a site i could print them at. The nice guys at the other site told me to look up Irv Buttray as he might be willing to share his insight with me. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hello JR87, not sure if the 30 is the same as a 40 but I found this in the archives and it may be good reading for you till someone gets here to give you an answer. Rocky.

JR87,

Rocko provided a very good reference.

Take it apart and remove some shims(if there are any left), INSPECT the 5 piece clutch pack......three friction discs and 2 steel spacer plates for wear, warpage, and delamination. If there are no shims to remove, that means it is time for replacing the 5 parts above. We have the parts that you need here.

We will also mail you the instructions.
