White 100

I've been looking to replace my 2-105 and I've come across a White 100. This would be about a 15 HP drop in horsepower. My question is what's the chance I could turbocharge this engine? Are the internals on this engine the same as the 120? cooling capacity? Would the transmission/rearend hold up to the added HP? I think I know the answer to the last question. Thanks for any input.

Hello, yes you can add a turbo but to do it properly you should add more fuel too possibly. The components of the engine are the same, less the turbo and the manifold and the oil tubing for said turbo. The power train will stand up to it as it is the same as the white 2-135 and that was used to build the 4-210 articulated tractors. I personaly have a white 100 Fwd with 160 HP and have had no troubles in nearly 4000 hours. B series Cummins use different pistons for turbo and non-turbo applications, as well as differing horsepower ratings within those catergories. Get the C.P.L. and engine serial numbers off the tag on the timing cover,and contact one of our engine people (R.F. Engine 800-828-6943) or Cummins, and find out which pistons you have.
