i to am working on hg oliver i need to know wires on the mag. it is a model x, i know #1 is at the window,what is the # across and what is the # below the 1 thanks for help

Always remember that #4 will be straight across from #1 on any 4 cylinder in line engine. I would need to look but if you put say #2 next and then #3 across from it and it misses turn those 2 around.

Also, there is always the risk that the mag has been fitted 180 degrees out, and other issues with the mag distributor if the speed reducer section has been tampered with (I am thinking this mag is driven at crankshaft speed?).

No.1 spark plug cable plugs in distributor cap in the upper right hand corner, cables 2-4-3 follow in clockwise order
