Super 55 diesel

I'm getting diesel in the crankcase. I know it could be the lift pump but it was rebuilt about 3 years ago, or it could be the injection pump (hopefully not) which I've never done anything with. I think the diesel is getting into the basement even when the tractor is not running. Is that possible? If so, would that point to the lift pump or the injection pump? I can't find a new lift pump so may have to convert it to electric if that ends up being the issue. If it is the lift pump it is going to be awhile til that gets fixed just due to the cost.

Chief, I think you can get a new lift pump fro Jacks Small Engines, 1-877-737-2787. You can go to their web site and type in Oliver. The pump costs about $110.00. Korves 618-939-6681 has a rebulid kit for $35.25. You might check the tractor parts section of this web site. I think the super55 takes the same pump as a 77-880-1550-1955. hope this helps, chuck

There is only 1 O-ring in the pump that will let fuel in the pan. It is easy o change and you do not need to reove the pump to do it. It is still available. I know several places that would have it in stock. It might be wise to change it as well.

Remove the bolts holding the lift pump on and pull it away from the block with the fuel lines attached, then pump the external lever and see if fuel leaks out.

J--where would you recommend I get the o-ring and just as important the instructions for replacing it? I agree if I can I will replace both the o-ring you recommend and the lift pump if possible. The tractor runs great so it would be nice to use it again.
