Nope- pulled 2 16's in sod and clay ground- it may (or may not) have pulled 3, but sure wouldn't have pulled 4.
 
Three 16's would be 48; four 14's would be 52.

Don't know what the 'norm' for furrow width was in those days, but a couple of my old (trailer) ploughs are only 12's.

The fella on the 1550 seat looks a lot more comfortable on a tractor showroom floor than out in the field!...slim

Where I went to school 4 x 14 = 56

Also a while back there was poster who posted photos of a stock Oliver 1550 pulling 4 - 16 plows. May have been in tractor talk or implement alley section....
 
I have a 1550 diesel thats been pulling 4x16s for years and has no problem pulling them. Local Oliver dealer says its the only one they ever seen do it. Last fall I found an Oliver 565 4x16 simi mount and it pulled ot with ease. Second picture dad forgot to put the hydro power into low, So he was running 4 high. Still pulled it good. Bandit

I still have Dads 620 yet and i was home the day it was delivered brand new with a 2 year old 1600 pulling it,Dad had bought both and never told me, I can still see that thing come down the road it was really sharp, the baler was always shedded and is still in great shape
