Oliver 77 - Hydraulics

My brother has a 77 he recently purchased and the hydraulic is very hot to the touch after the tractor runs for 10 minutes or so. Anyone have any ideas why this would be?

First of all Mike is leading you in the right direction. Heat will kill the pump in a very short length of time. Now to help you better we need to know if your 77 has a group 1,2 or 3 hydraulic unit. Do you have electrical switches by the throttle or do the handles come out of the top of the unit?
