Impatiently waiting for the new toy!

We did it last week. The trusty old 1550 gas is going to be replaced with a 1976 White 2-70 diesel. Only downside is now I have to find new mounts for the White 1730 QA loader that was on the 1550 to get it on the 2-70. Not so sure what we're going to do with the Oliver yet, but can't wait for the White to get delivered!

Will you have to change those mounts? I switch my loader back and forth from my 1550 and 1600 with no problem. I would think the 1600-1650-1655-2-70 would have just been a progression without many changes. Might be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time.
Keep the 1550 around though,I used mine as my second tractor for several years.

The front mount is different because the grill hangs over and down the front of the frame a few inches and White bolts a weight bracket casting to where the bracket attaches on the 1550. The side straps also mount about 1 bole hole ahead of where it does on the Oliver too.

Here's a picture of the 2-70 on the lot yet, hopefully this weekend it comes home. Also is a picture of the front weight casting, the reason why the Oliver front loader bracket won't work.

Oh yea! I forgot about that front weight bracket being there instead of just being a flat mount.

Jake,

Send me an email. I have pieces and parts of the mounts for a 1730QA loader that would not fit my 2-85. I think that mine came off a smaller White. I know that I have the large rear mount that the receivers bolt too. I do not know if the brackets that hold the mount to the frame will work or not. I'll make you a real reasonable offer.

Where are you located? I'm in central Wisconsin. I'm interested in what you may have. I need the front mount and the side straps that bolt the rear center piece to the frame. Would have sent you an email, but I can't quite figure this out yet! My email is jake ratsch @ yahoo . com (no spaces) Thanks!

Just got the kids to bed so I had a chance to look on Agcopartsbook.com. I'm thinking what you have would be for a 2-50 or 2-60. Mounts for a 2-70, 2-85, & 2-105 are the same.

I have the 2-70 that my dad bought new in 1977. It only has 3200 hours on it. You're going to like the 2-70.

Jake,

You won't believe this but I had the mounts for the smaller Whites with my loader. Looked and looked and couldn't find any. Happened to search the archives here and someone in Wisconsin was looking for them and had mounts that fit my 2-85 on a MM. He bought the loader from a neighbor. So I had to get my mounts from him. He lived north of Green Bay and I am north of Syracuse, NY. By then he bought his mounts already so we could not trade but I bought his.
I'll see if I can find pics of what I have and they might work for you.

Jake,

Here are some pics of what I have. Now the the cross beam does not have the cone receiver pieces on it as I had to use them for my tractor. The front mount is likely narrower than what you need and I'm not sure about the side plates for the cross beam.

Just looked at the pictures and it's not going to work unfortunately. I need exactly the same side plates and front mount that you have on your 2-85. Looked on the Agco parts book site and not sure what your mounts fit. Maybe a Farmall or International? Thanks much for your effort though!
