From what I have learned so far my Cletrac has a IXK-3 engine. Seems the difference in it and a IXB3 is the bore size. The IXK has a bore of 3 1/8 inch and the IXB has a bore of 3 1/4. Both have a stroke of 4 inches. The IXB is 133 CI or 2.2 liters. I've seen one post that said the IXK is 113ci and another said it is 123ci.
Hard to find the data on these engines.
Anyone know the horse power of them? I've heard it's abound 20 HP. But not sure which engine that would be.
Can a IXK be bored out to the same as the IXB? Or even bored to what ever the largest oversize bore the IXB can be bore to?
Guess I'm asking is the IXK the same block only bored less. Wondering how much more horse power I could get out of it.
It is a Cletrac HG68 I'm working on.
I'm also conceding putting an a Isuzu 2.2 diesel in it instead. I was told that would work. I've heard they run about 35 horse power. Would that be to much torque and just cause more problems? Seem it would be cheaper in the long run as parts are easier to find for them, Little more power would be nice.
