1855 Repower with Pertkins 6T-354

I have an 1855 with a bad engine beyond repair. I have access to either a 6T-354 Perkins from a Massey 1105 or another from a White 2-105. I have been told that I would need to replace the tub on the 1855 to fit the Perkins in. Anyone have any firsthand wisdom to pass on regarding anything else that would be involved in doing this repowering?

If you have to buy a tub anyway, why not go with a 2-105 tub and the 2-105 engine? I think the front motor mount is different with the 2-105 than with the 1850. The 1850 uses just one in the front center,2-105 uses one on each side I believe.
If you went that route, pretty straight forward. Throttle linkage maybe. Hood, the exhaust will be opposite side from the 1855. No experience with the PTO long shaft similarities between the two.
