cockshutt 30 engine removal Update

OK so got engine lose and moved foward away from preasue plate, sitting in tub. Pondering on where to hook chains/hoist on. Engine doesn't seem vary heavy as slid it forward in tub with a 2 ft bar. Considering a couple of the intake exhaust manifold bolts as it is off engine at this time and some where on other side to balance. Also looking at 4 bolt holes at bottem of block just above oil pan, one near each corner of block, not used for any thing when engine is bolted in, is that there purpose? Any advice on this apprieciated. Thanks. Rocko.

Yes you can use the four bolt holes. The engine in the 30 is probably around 300-350 lbs. You'll have to balance out when you hook up. The flywheel may make the rear a little heavier. Some take valve cover off and use head bolts if possible.

Thanks TW. Yes I did end up using those 4 bolt holes and a couple 3 ft lengths of chain bolt there and slung over the top of the engine and both clipped into hoist. Couple strategicaly placed chuncks of 2x2 to keep chains from damaging anything and Bingo. Work quite slick. Thanks again. Rocko.
