I love all the people that run scared from these tractors. I have my Oliver G1355 and i absolutely love it for using in the field plowing, disking, etc. I wouldnt be afraid to hook it to anything. When the time is taken and the engine is re-done correctly, they are a heck of an engine. I have never heard of an external pump causing more issues than what its worth, not sure where that comes from? The same poster talked about dropping valves, care to elaborate? I have heard something about this but not sure of the cause. Have never heard of one doing that around Central Illinois. Just alot of horror stories about scored cylinders/pistons from bad numbers when assembling. I know of a few other green G1355's around here but not sure if any are for sale. |

| Well the external pump has to suck the oil all the way up to it and the preasure relief valve in the pump just bypasses the oil to the sucktion side so if that valve sticks open a hair you loose prime and all oil preasure. The pump and valve run in unfiltered oil and sticking is a real problem. You can add a checkvalve so the oil wont run back into the sump, but they can stick as well. All of the above have happened to me.My engine has never had a turbo but has broken valves several times. The new 2-150 valves seem to stop that problem.I thought i had a good engine too untill things went downhill. |
