Cockshutt 570 DIesel, Injection pump problems

To make a long story short, theres a Cockshutt 570 sitting in the
hedgerow about a mile away from me. It was a friends who
passed away a few years ago and Trying to get it running for his
family.

It will fire up and run on ether. I am getting fuel to the injection
pump, but nothing out of the "head" where the lines meet the
pump. Fuel shut off is "off" and tried various throttle positions
etc.
The tractor hasnt run in about 6 years, It was parked due to a
rim rusting out, which is fixed now. I know everyone likes
pictures so I will try to post a few. It has an american bosch PSB
pump. Any ideas?

Most likely you should have to see if theplunger was free in the pump. Now the plunger probably broke. Also every 570 I ever worked on had a Bosch Heavy duty head.

Fuel varnish.Does CNY mean Cental New York? Get me the model off the pump. I know a diesel shop that had a brand new heavy duty PSB head, but I need some numbers. How about a phone number?

I will grab the model off the pump next time I go see it. I'm near syracuse. I'm not sure how much the owner)s will want to put into it, so its hard to say. Email is open

Get the pump number and the hydraulic head part number as well. Sometimes they have been replaced with a different number than original.

Next time you walk up to a half dead diesel dinosaur make sure you treat it early to a fully charged battery system and clean connections to spin it with some gusto. Also make the engine think it is mid-August. Tent the tractor, thoroughly heat soak the engine, diesel injector pump and distributed lines. A kerosene space heater can to this job as long as you set the distance to prevent accidental grease/diesel fire. This would be one way to go if the pump plunger has not already gone bad.

Thanks for the info guys. Those pictures were taken a week ago when I reinstalled the wheel. It was about 45F and rainy so I figured it couldnt be too bad since nothing was frozen. I bought a case forklift with a 207D that ran after not starting in 10 years off the same property, it was about 250 yards from the cockshutt. Only pump problem I had (roosamaster) was the governor ring failing after a few hours.

Does anyone have a schematic of the pump with the plunger in question? Just curious on what it looks like and where its located. When they break, does it ruin the whole head of the pump? I resealed the roosamaster on the Case so I have a decent idea whats going on with one.

I guess I'm its last shot in life as the head of the estate said if it couldnt be fixed it might be scrapped.

Whats the general opinion on these tractors? If they dont want to put the money in it I might try to buy it.

Opinion of the 570? Probably the second best Cockshutt, 570 Super the best. Good power to weight, bullet proof drivetrain if it I maintained at all. Easy to shift gears. Solid built machine good for lots of hours. Downsides would be expensive Hercules engine parts, power steering was period correct in being not the best (gremmer) similar to Oliver's of the period. ditto for the seat.
I have spent many hours on a 570 Super.
Regards
Neil
