Hi just curious to know if anyone has tried a cummins 5.9 in a 1750 or 1850?. I know where there is a 1750 which had a engine fire and I know of a guy who has a 5.9 from a 92 dodge 1ton for a good price. Would this be a hard conversion? |

| | Yes it can be done and has been done quite a bit. And actually, you can use the original tub, but an 1850 diesel tub is a much better place to start. A 55 series Oliver would be a better series to start with if you are going to go through the effort (better hydraulics, etc). An engine out of a Dodge really isn't the best engine to start with, but it can be made to work. Check rrlund's post for more information. |

| i have seen plenty of 5.9 cummins conversions lately. i know that you need an 1850 diesel tub for the motor but other than that i don't know much. there are plenty of people on this site that have done these conversions so they should give you the answers. |
