We rented a 500 bu. manure spreader and hooked it up behind the 18 this weekend. Was a heck of a load for it (Kuhn/Knight reccomends 120 HP minimum, 1855 dynoed at 105)
It's got a hydraulic apron, so I plumbed in a coupler at the bottom of the reservoir next to the bracket for the top link and had the return going in there instead of through the remote to help keep the oil cool. Must have worked, as after unloading I couls still hold onto the hoses for the apron control.
I hauled out 17 loads, which would have been about 40 with our spreader. The front end got a little light for steering, even with the starter, 1 stack and 4 slabs on the front. Sure made the job go fast though.

| That is a good load and nice oliver you got there. Whenever we are hauling heavy drawbar loads like that with an underweight tractor, we put the 3pt just about way up, put a log chain around the 3 pt arms and under the drawbar, and then raise the 3pt up so there is some tension on the chain. Takes some of the load off the drawbar and reduces bounce.

| Yup, factory drawbar, but it's been reenforced on the bracket by the previous owner, and the hanger was replaced with some 1"bar stock. No idea if the drawbar was bending, but it would have been a mess if it broke. The coupler to the reservoir doesn't have the break away feature because it's just on a pipe, no bracket.

| do you use the factory draw-bar ? the grain cart makes my 2255 draw-bar bow down , Iwonder when it will break!!
