At last years Cockshutt club banquet, one of the guys in the club was the keynote speaker. At his dealer they had an early E5 they couldn't sell, so after awhile they painted it red and made it a Cockshutt, still didn't sell. In '56 the Deluxe line came out, so they repainted it yet again. Guy came in and bought it on the spot. Same guy had looked at it before but didn't like it....

My serial chart is kind of screwy for 52 -54. But I think yours is a '52.

I have the book "Cockshutt The Complete Story" and it has a serial number chart that also indicates my 50 is a 1952 model. The 50 was premiered in October of 52 with production beginning in December of 52. There is a serial number chart for all models online at

Thats the one I am using, same as in the Complete story, but if you look they only made one from 53-54?

I found a chart somewhere on the net that indicated my number would be a 1953 but who knows. Mine was unique in that the "deluxe" decals had a typo on the one side and it actually read "deuxe" 50. I wonder if there were many like that produced? I don't think I have any pictures of it and not sure if it is still visible after several brush on paint jobs over the years.
