I'm working on a 1655 diesel with a vibration in the clutch housing or over/under area. It has broke a couple ears off the bell housing that are going to have to be repaired. The over/under seems to be sagging at the chain coupler area. If I pry up on the rear of the housing the vibration goes away. I've worked on other Olivers that had a support bolt up through the bottom of the tub to help support the aux.drive unit and align the chain coupler. Should I install such a bolt in this application? Also if I end up replacing the clutch housing, what tractor models have a housing that will work? Will a clutch housing for a two speed unit work with a three speed unit? Thanks in advance for your thoughts or advice.
