1855 Engine Numbers

I have an 1855 with blown engine. This is the second blown engine in this tractor and the guy I bought it from said it isn't a 1855 engine. I think it might be. Can anyone help me out? Numbers on the block are 221520, 166-101A, and 9216. It has what I believe is the oil cooler.

It is a replacement engine. The original 1855 engines did not have the oil coolers in the block. The first oil coolers for the 1855 fit on the filter housing and took a spin on oil filter. I would say you had a pin bushing failure. That block looks repairable, but a lot of checks need to be made.I think I would set it about 90-92 Horsepower and it would be a nice running easy on fuel tractor. My 2 cents worth.

I dug around behind the starter and found most of the piston, part of a ring, and some block parts. The journal on the crank is bare. The rod and everything else must be in the pan. I don't intend to fix it. There should be some good parts for other projects.
