Steering 2-155

Can a complete steering axle from a 2-180 be mounted on a 2-155? I am tired of dealing with steering slop. The steering axle in the 170 never gives any trouble.

On our 155 the steering has always been tight but on our 105 white, it was lose or sloppy, we replaced the tie rod ends, and there was a bolt we tightened up to for the steering, and it got rid of the sloppy steering and drove fine then.

Well our 155 has 9600 hours on it and our neighbor bought it brand new and we bought it from them and its been overhauled once and had one set of tie rods on since new rather than that hasn't had hardly anything go wrong and steering as tight as can be. I think they hold up pretty well especially for having close to 10000 hours

I feel sorry for your wife if you'll argue over something that trivial. If you take time to examine a 2-180 front end, you will know what I'm talking about. I farm 2000 acres of corn, beans, and cotton on rough ground. My tractor takes plenty of abuse on the front end. I don't need someone who doesn't know my situation to tell me it will hold up fine. I have seen the differnce between the workhorse and the 2-155. I would just like to know if a 2-180 front end will work under a 2-155.

Well we farm 2500acres and I was just saying the 155 holds up fine, don't use it much anymore, we have a 435 case and a 8245r that gets most of it done. And I've looked at 180s before, but we bought a 185 instead but don't have it anymore. And didn't want to argue but you make it sound like they don't hold up, they do, yeah the 180 is a heavier front end. Hope you have luck finding your awnser, don't want to get in an argument over something dumb.... Thanks

We have both a 2-180 and a 2-155 at the farm. I can try to take a look over the weekend and see if the bolt holes are similiar between the two. I would bet that you could. You can email me if you wish.
