super 99 diesel

got the tractor behind the truck and tried to pull start it. tied up tighter than fort knox. got it back in the drive way and noticed anti freeze dripping from the exhaust manifold. I bought this tractor to use, not work on it, so is there a simple fix or did this just turn into a complete rebuild? 586-291-7857, Dale

If you have antifreeze coming for the manifold, better pull the head off and have a look see. Check the head gasket for leaks, if it's OK, maybe have the head pressure checked. Good luck.

Will the engine turn backwards a little? Likely a pot is full of water and the engine was hydraulically locked; otherwise it may be seized. 'Fraid it is going to need work on it before you can work it.

Not necessarily a complete rebuild, but it could be. You may have been 'caught' by the vendor.

OK, I got the head off it, and one liner was cracked wide open. Now the million dollar question is should I replace just that one, and put it back together or not? What would of caused that to crack like that in the first place?
