White 2-70 fuel problem

I'm having a fuel problem with a White 2-70 diesel. If you pull it hard it will slow down and die. Then after about 30 seconds it will restart. It only does it when running at high engine rpm. I replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the fuel bowl screen. Thanks for any help

Is your fuel shut off working properly? Once in a while our Massey 285 will start running really weak, and then when I look down the fuel shut off is pulled out a little bit. Don't know how or why, but every now & then it gets me and this fall I drove it home ot change the fuel filters quick, but then Dad reminded me of the issue.

I unhooked the line from the tank fuel ran out ok. RAN through the filter ok and to the pump. I haven't checked the shutoff cable, this one pushes in. I'll look at that. If that's ok I guess it's the pump. Thanks for the help

I know this sounds off base but check your fuel cap. I had a JD doing the same thing and the vent on the cap was stopped up. I replaced the cap and it has run fine for several years.

Those Roosa pumps also need a good return flow or the
engine will stop. Try it with the return going into an open
container. Seems counter intuitive, but it will stop.
