Hi all , can't post a pic. -- just wondering what my 1956 super 88 diesel is worth in todays market , tin is good , runs good , hours unknown, driveline perfect , everything works as it should.

Thanks

In reality? I saw as nice of a 770 gas as I've ever seen sell at an auction a few weeks ago. Fairly decent tires, super clean, said to have had a new hydraulic pump a year ago, narrow front, clamshell fenders but square seat, eggcrate grille. Only downside,no side sheet metal at all,all 4 pieces missing,as was the front oval emblem.
That one brought $1750.

I see some on Craigslist for around $3000 that are diesel

I bought a 56 super 88 diesel with a broken crank for $450, tires are shot, all sheet metal is ok, pto shaft splines are paper thin, as well as input shaft.... No hour meter but farmer said it ran auger, generator, irrigation pumps since 1971. He guessed at close to 20,000 hours with 1 complete overhaul, and rebuilt injection pump 3 times

He said that tractor out lived a lot of other brands they had

just saw a wide front, diesel, with 3pt and hydraulics sell for 3k. So somewhere right under there is what I would say.

Super 88 Olivers are hard to come by let alone finding a diesel in any condition. I gave up and purchased a 880 from Eaton MN last August. I (happily) paid $2,300.00 and replaced the hyd. pump, rebuilt the Zeineth carb, replaced all fluids, rebuilt PTO, replaced all gaskets and front wheel bearings, stripped, blasted, some tin work, primed, painted, new rubber, emblems, steering wheel, decals and seat cover. All said and done: $7,865.00. Worth every penny.
