| Kevin, I recently restored an 880 with a gas engine. After all the work was done and we put the parts back together, the engine would not run without hesitation and sputters between 1500 and 1800 rpm. We had just rebuilt the carb and looked at the gov. for clues. Sure enough, the weights were wobboling on the set pins and actually hitting the gov. housing. We installed new weights and pins. The rough idle, hesitation and engine coughing was gone. Who would have thought it was the governor? |
