I have a Super 88. A nice tractor. Not started in probably 4 years. Put a battery in it today and it was stuck. Oil still looks great and radiator is still full to the top. I am a JD guy, and have never attempted to loosen up an Oliver. What are my best options to remedy this??? Thanks in advance. Old Bob

yap ! I've been through this before and had good luck with penetrating oil -- let it sit for a few days and start rocking her . But I always remove the vale cover and check for stuck vales by hitting them gently with a hammer or spinning the push rods -- good luck

ps. I have the exact same tractor 1956 super 88 diesel

If its a diesel, you will need to free the injection pump as well.

Do not pull it and pop the clutch. You will bend a rod or two. Fixing my problem now as we speak.

Try tranny fluid and diesel fuel mix or penetrating fluid, let it sit a few then use a breaker bar on the front nut. Not a lot of pressure or you will ruin the threads in the crank. All else pull the head. This may well be the first thing you need to do.

Or put the magic elixer in the cylinders, leave the tractor in gear, and then just rock the back wheel a little, both ways, every time you walk by it. May take a couple of weeks, but it will probably free up.
