could you put an oliver 77 motor in a 70 with some work?

Define the words "some work" With some work anything can be done. You would be better off to take the front tub off a 77 and try to make it fit the rear end of the 70.

been there, the 77 tub isnt even close to fitting.The swap you are talking about is no picnic even if you have a lathe, milling machine, welder, and a plasma cutter! We pulled a bored and stroked 70 for several years. In the end we ended up with a 420 inch 77, the 70 is a novil idea there just isnt much to work with.

Ive seen chevy 250/292 in 70s before they may be eaiser than the waukeshas.

I think it would be easier to put your 70 sheet metal on a 77.
