Our local NISPC club show runs thru Sunday. A fella asked me if I had ever seen or heard of an aluminum "heated seat". He said His Dad bought the tractor new from a dealer in North central Illinois. The seat sat on a normal 88 mount, but had two hoses from the radiator plumed to the side of it. I said it sounded like aftermarket, that maybe somebody ordered and then didn"t take, but He swore His Dad had bought it off the lot, brand new in 1953. |

I got curious and did a little googling and found an article on The Farm Show about a collector. He had a heated tractor seat from the Warm Seat Co., Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I tried searching the company, but no luck.

We had a super m with an aluminum water heated seat that we used for a chore tractor years ago. It had a valve on it like a faucet on the outside of a house to controle the water flow. It worked great! The only time it ever caused any trouble was when I fired the tractor up on a below zero day and my a-- was frozen. I opened the valve and hooked on to the feed grinder and had just started grinding when my tank wagon agent showed up with furnace fuel. I talked to him and got warmed up wile the grinder was running. when I went back to the tractor all that was left of the vinal seat cover was a pile of goo and the draw string. Im not so sure it didnt say tractor supply on the bottom.

I have seen a couple, they were made in Cedar Rapids IA. if I remember right. The ones I have seen have the company name on the bottom. I still know where there is one on a 550 in town

Yeah RR. I asked about that and He said there was a shutoff valve close to the seat. Said that seat would get pretty hot, especially if you turned it on for a cold morning, then it warmed up in the PM.
