It is not a super, a super has flat areas above the pipe holes
on each side of the frame and a flat area on the front. All of
the flat areas have threaded holes. This change was made to
the supers to allow the mounting of the new style cultivator.
I would say that your tractor was a late model since it has disc
brakes.

Looks like a 77 to me. Typical California cultivator tractor. Are you in California, looks a bit like the dez.

Which way frpm Phoenix? The tractor has disk brakes. Take the thermostat housing off and there will be a date stamped in that area when the head was machined. It is later than july or August of 52.It is a Fleetline 77.

The previous Owner had already removed the valve cover and thermostat housing, so I was able to look at the head today. It is stamped with a large 2 under the valve cover gasket, and 1953 smaller after, and then an unrecognizable character, possibly an M, or a 3. So, Feb of 1953?

Just wonder how you date it to July or August 52 John? The first one serial numbered as a 52 had disc brakes. Later 51 88s had disc brakes, mid 52 on,66s had disc brakes. Is there some other way to tell?

As far as the posters question how to tell a Fleetline from a Super,no flat mounting pads on the frame.

Definately a later 77 though,can tell it's a 77 not an 88 by the grille.

If you are wanting to know what it is, It looks like A 1949 to1953
model 77. The grill does't look wide enough and the rear tires
don't look wide enough to be a 88 . The engine looks like a 6 cylinder, if it is a 4 cylinder. then it would be a 66. I'am not sure but I think that they started making the supper series in 1954.
I do know my dad purchased the first Supper 55 that our dealer got in and that was in 1954. It is newer than a 1951 because my 1951 has the serial # tag on the tranny housing on the right
side in front of the brake housing

Yeah, I was kind of looking for an Id on it, but I didn't give much info, as I had already done so in a post lower on the page. Yes, 6 cyl, 13.6-38. General consensus is its a 77, but how/what defines a 77 from a Super 77? (this one has the block castings:185220 and M100; head M1800) Also, did the engine have a serial number?
