Once you get the serial number spend the money and call the museum in Charles City and then order a build card. It will tell you when the tractor was built and how it was equipped when it left the factory. I will get the phone number for the museum later today for you. J.

I'am sure the best way to know for sure is to take the first gentleman's advice. I have several LP 770 and 880's. They are all factory. In Texas we thought the diesel was rare. Here in our part of the country, when you find a 770 or 880 , 9 times out of 10 it will be Lp (Factory LP ).

well i am not 100% sure but i would say an lp 880 is more hard to find than rare. now on the idea of factory or after market i believe it depends on how the lp tank looks on the tractor. i believe that the valves and all that stuff is on the top of the tractor. but i really don't know i have never messed with an LP oliver before, i am just going off of the pictures that i have seen.
