I have just bought what I thought to be a 1900 mfwd Cockshutt. The ser# plate says Oliver corp.My 1950 Cockshutt has Cockshutt Canada on the ser# tag. The tractor has been painted green, yellow , then red so I was thinking it must have been an Oliver 1900 in the beginning. Any other info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

But they had serial tag that said Cockshutt of Canada. All the Red Cockshutt/Olivers I have seen did in fact have a ID Tag that was the same shape as Oliver but said Cockshutt on it. My 1966 550 has a Cockshutt ID tsg on it

When you say "1950 Cockshutt" do you mean 1950 year, or model 1950?

Reason I asked is that I thought all 4 digit Cockshutts had Oliver nameplate. Apparently not. They're all made by Oliver, however. The last true Cockshutts were in 1962, I think- Models 540, 550, 560 and 570. And one 580.

It has the shape of an Oliver tag, but it has Cockshutt on the tag. We have a real clean 2-135 to work on this fall. It has White Farm Equipment of Canada on the tag.

As far as I know all the Cockshutts of that series were really Olivers. Cockshutt's last tractors were the 5 series ending in 1961. After that they were just repainted Olivers in Cockshutt colours.
