My son noticed fuel leaking down from one of the injectors on my 1855. Since we had to pull the injector pump to replace a stud, we decided to figure out what was going on with the injector. My first thought was the rubber T was leaking or broken. Not the case. The injector was leaking fuel up from the injector body. It also was loose even though you could not tighten the bolt down any more. Upon removal (which was real easy) we found a steel washer on top of the rubber seal near the top of the injector. The tip had some carbon on it. Not sure what they did but it looks like they didn't seat the injector all the way down. Has anyone ever seen this before. Is there a way to clean out the carbon at the bottom where the injector goes in. I removed the washer and re-tightened the injector. At first it looked like it was fixed and the number 2 piston was firing again, but then it stopped and fuel was again pouring out. I have never seen this before. Any ideas? Thanks |

| Did you test the injector? There is a reamer you use to clean the bore. It has a Deere OTC tool number. Always change the Teflon seal as well. |

| | we are taking it in on Monday to get tested. Seals will also be replaced if it is good. I will let my hired man know about the JD tool if the diesel shop does not have it. thanks Also can you send me the timing specs you mentioned before. If you could send it for both versions, I can figure it out. |
