1655- Disc Size

Hey all,

Just wondering how wide of a tandem disc a 1655 can handle in medium to heavy clay loam soils? I'm thinking around 14 feet?

Thanks for any help!

12' would probably be better. 14' can be pulled by a 1655, but it
works the tractor pretty good.

when dad was living he said "asking how big of an implement you need is like asking how big a wife should be " depends on how deep and how fast you wish to go ! LOL

A 1655 should pull a 14 foot disc without any proplem, Dad pulls a 13ft MM disc with a 14ft packer with his 1550 gas with no problems. I dont think you will have any problem pulling one. Bandit

Thanks for the help guys, pretty much what I was thinking. We have absolutely no hills, ground is medium to heavy clay loam but will have been worked in the fall (moldboard plow) before discing in spring. Won't be working too deep, just enough to turn and level furrows a little.

with duals and weights 14 would be alright. if you don't have some
extra weight via loaded tires, wheel weights etc you might want to
look for a 12ft
