Does anyone know where I could find an oil dipstick for a 2255 with a 3208. I tried agco who told me to call caterpillar which I did only to be informed the part was discontinued. Any help you could provide would be awesome. |

What for tractor? A 2255 or a white. I should be able to help with a cat part#. I work there and also have a 2-180 and 2255. If you have a serial number (90nXXXXX nore than likely)I can go off that. The part # should be on the dipstick itself if yo still have it.

I was given the cat part number from agco today which I gave to the cat parts man. Cant remember the number now but was told the dipstick was discontinued. The engine serial number is 90N4982. We looked it up at the cat dealer and it shows about 3 potential part numbers all incorrect. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I looked it up too. You are correct there are 3 different ones. Only one gave me a price of 18.27. But all said replaced contact dealer. There has to be one out there somewhere. Ask about cat classic parts. I would press a little harder on the Cat parts guy.

go to a salvage yard, preferably one with a lot of new holland tr70-whatever combines. these combines had nothing but 3208 Cats in and they would probably have a dipstick for sale.
