lookin at a nice 1650

A neighbor has a 1650 gas hydra shift 4200hrs in good condition has been sitting out side the last 5 years but the paint is there and theres not to much rust. been used for brush mowing and moving implements around and some hay work so just light work. he said he would sell it to be for 3500$ i think i could get it for 3000 but i think 3500 is a good deal. what is your opinion on this tractor and the price.

My primary work horse (ford 4000) is down i have to rebuild the motor and with spring just around the corner its a bad time for the ford to go out and I have been looking for a bigger tractor for the last few yrs. so what do you guys think of a gas 1650 hydra shift and is it a good price.

In my humble opinion, I don't know how you could do better for general chore tractor. It will always start and most parts are available if needed.

Not sure if you are talking about the 2-speed hydra-power or the 3-speed hydraul-shift but either way the price is good.
My 1650 does more work than it should because it's just the right size for so many jobs.

I bought one a couple years ago for about the same money. For me, it is a good tractor that does just about anything I ask it to do on 50 acres of hay and 50 acres of row crops every year.

i have a diesel 1655, they are a good tractor. Big enough to do big jobs and small and nimble enough to do smaller jobs. If its as nice as you say, you will not regret it.

I will say though that those do go through some gas.
