Was it common to have 1800 oliver 2 wheel drive diesel ordered with no 3pt? I know of one that is probably a late 1800(non checkerboard and has throttle on righthand of dash). It looks like a row-crop and doesn't really look like a wheatland? It is still on original owners farm and he said it never had 3pt.

You asked if it was common for a dealer to order a 1800 without a 3 pt.  If you were a dealer in the High Plains wheat growing area ( West Texas to North Dakota ) where there was very little row crops grown, yes it was common.  They were called a self Propelled drawbar.

As irrigation became more common in some parts of the country ( like SW Kansas )fewer tractors were ordered that way.  Having worked in the Omaha Branch, we only ordered tractors without 3pt for dealers that agreed to pay for them upon delivery.  The problem was that the non 3pt hitch tractor could not be transfered out of that area (too much time and expense to install the 3 pt.).

No it was not common, but a few were. I saw a 170 allis at a farm sale with no 3 point,in the 1970's, just killed the sale of the tractor.

It kind of suprised me when I saw the tractor and was expecting to see a 3pt. Didn't think it was a wheatland. No other indicators on tractor would make it not seem like a row crop. What would a wheatland 1800 look like?

Would all the wheatlands have a standard front axle whereas all row crops would have the adjustable front axle?
