I have a Class WK-80, Model 160 Joy (Sullivan) air compressor. It is missing an engine. It was a model 6B-273 Buda. Does anybody know what other applications this engine was used in??

Cockshutt tractor Model 50 used that size engine. Sold as co-op E-5 also. It had no sleeves, unlike other Buda engines used in tractors.

In this day and age instead of looking for a B273 I would look for a G262 out of a combine lot less money + easier to find and to find parts for.

In 1953, Allis Chalmers needed more engine plant
capacity, and rather than build another plant,
bought Buda Engine Company. Buda's were rolled into the Allis Chalmers line. The 262, used in Gleaner combines was a Buda engine.

I 2nd the find an Allis-Chalmers G262 out of a combine or D19 tractor. They are plentiful. Finding a 273 won't be easy and will cost you more than a 262.
