570 Cockshutt

I am redoing a 570 gas that the original engine was destroyed from years of sitting full of water. I found a GO298 in a Case combine. (I also found a GO339) You have to be aware that some combine engines have the manifolds on the wrong side and it can be a nightmare to reverse the engine. The blocks are cast so that the timing gear case and bellhousing will bolt to either end. The head will only work one way (water outlet on wrong end) and the camshaft and oil pump drive gears are cut for reverse rotation.
 
The whole tractor is in rough shape. My father used it for breaking and farming 2 quarter sections for roughly 35 years. The engine runs, but it needs a water pump and a fuel pump rebuild at the very least. I am not sure if it would be more economical to install a different engine, fix this one, or find another tractor. It also needs work on the hydraulics.
