Oliver 2255

I hardly ever post on the Oliver forum, I'm an ole Moline man from way back. I always wanted a 2255. I saw the top right corner of the cab sticking out from behind a row of cedar trees one day. Found the owner and made the deal. The side panels, front wheels and fuel tank are with it, just not on the tractor. I know it's not much to look at, but it used to belong to a neighbor and I can remember when it howled across the Kansas plains.

I own the 550 my father bought new in 1958. When I get the 2255 restored I think they will make a good looking pair.

Hope you are able to rebuild it, I love those cherry bombs on the exhaust, bet it has a sound all its own. Good luck with it, heres a brochure to get you in the mood.

Oh yeah, that fuel tank is gone.

I have a 210 hp Cat 3208 to put in it. Not sure about the Hyd. on this thing. It will give me something to do.

I paid the same amount for this tractor as I pay for all my tractors - to much.

Dang Roger, keep us all posted. Can't wait to hear this thing howling across the Kansas plains once again. . . .

This was the most productive tractor I ever owned;pulled a 14'265-Heavy Duty(26" disk pans-11"spacing) in tandem with a 14' leveling harrow(22" pans-7"-spacing)plus 4" DIA. steel pipe for a "starch&iron" finish. One pass behind the combines and this 3208 Cat-powered 2255 Oliver w/factory duals would trot pulling a 6-bottom breaking plow. These BRUTES were very popular tractors here in the panhandle of Florida.I wish you the best of luck with your restoration!
