White 170 clutch size type?

I have been reading up on the 505(8.3) cid cummins used in the White 170 and White 180 and have this question, when White uped the cubic inches from the 5.9 to the 8.3 cummins did they increase the size of the clutch from 13 to 14 inches or is it the same 13 inch dia Sae #3 set up. Reason is I am wondering if the cummins flywheel housing is a Sae #2 to use a bigger clutch or it is same set up in the Sae #3 13 5.9 cummins set up?? Am also curious to what type of clutch those 170's used vs the 5.9 lower horsepower White tractors.

A white 170 used a 13" DOUBLE DISC clutch. We converted our 2255, 2-150,and 2-155 cummins to this type. The clutch in out 2-105 cummins is a 14" single disc and will take the 190hp and more since we took the stop plate out of the pump. I would think there is enought room for it. I can't remember though, is the flywheel flat or stepped? It needs to be flat for the 13" double disc. It will set you back about $750.

Thanks, I having problems with the Agro viewer and soon as i get it solved i will try to take a peek at the double disc set up you are refering to, i bet its the way to go for sure, i am not building a puller or anything but want about 100 hp so i can make a brush shredder tractor, we have tall brush and i am using a ih 986 and i hate the way it runs with the shredder, its one of those 200 hp gearboxes Servis Nitro batwings and can handle the extra hp, i not trying to blow out the finals or tranny in the 1750 i just want to set a 5.9 24 valve in it and detune it and run the governed pump in it some how, right now i am trying to figure out what clutch the 5.9 conversion into the 1750 will require, finding out there is a 2 disc 13 inch dia clutch confirms that that 170 8.3 cumins is using a SAe#3 bellhousing too. Thanks again for the info. Its been flooding down here and i still have not even got out to snap some pics of my project that so many freinds have helped me out on this kewl oliver site. Maybe Monday or Tuesday the perkins housing will show up and he sae#3 bell i have ordered from out of state. M kuns could you post any pictures of your tractors, especially how the front and rear motor mounts atached to the motor and tub/frame on your tractors, i have been looking on websites for pictures of sides of the cummins equipted whites and hard to find close up, espeically where rhe sae#3 bell is atached to the frame at the rear or front of the engine

The 8.3 Cummins and the 3208's used the SAE #2 bellhousings. The hercules in the 2-155 used the SAE#3 like a 354 perkins in the 2-105, so we had to switch bellhousings on the over/under for the 8.3 cummins. I won't be able to post any pics for a few days until I get down to the farm again. The engine mounts sit on top of the frame. I used the existing holes from the 354 perkins on the 2-105 for the front mounts and drilled and tapped 2, 3/8 bolt holes for the rear mounts. Like I said I'm not sure if the double disc would fit in the sae #3 bell housing. Our big tractors ie. 2255, 2-150, 2-180, and 2-155mfwd, take a lot of abuse at over 210 hp each. They have all hooked to a 5,000 gallon tanker weighing 80,000 lbs total weight, and up some pretty steep hills. They needed the double disc. Our 2-105 cummins gets used for hauling wagons, corn planting and such. We have the 14" single disc in it and has been holding up fine for about 5 years now. I'll try to get some pics till the weekend.
