Hydraulic snow blower

Looking at mounting a hydraulic snow blower on a 1650 oliver, looking at hydraulic so I can run hoses and mount it on the loader on front and not have to look backwards. Will the power beyond have enough volume to run the blower if I get the right motor or do I need to run it off of a remote? 6" wide blower. 540 pto speed. If the tractor doesn"t have enough volume, I can always use a pto pump. Anyone ever try this. Th

Come on here. What are the torque requirements for the snow blower? For fun let us say the snow blower takes 50-55 horsepower. Your best bet is going to be a front mounted pump. You are not going to get it with most PTO pumps that are available. Also granted it is cold when it snows but hydraulic motors heat hydraulic oil quickly. How long will you be operating the snow blower at one time? You need to do more homework!

I know they mount them on skid steers. I heard one time you will lose 40 % power running a blower that way. There is a guy close to me with a new deere and a front mounted blower, maybe check out their website.

Homework. Exactly what I am trying to do here J.S.. I figured if anyone had done it or tried it, it would help me out. Don"t have a clue as to hp to torque conversion. Can you help me with that J.S.? Ran it with a 660 oliver and it had plenty of power to run the blower and it is rated at 41 hp, so it wouldn"t take 55 hp. You said that a pto pump would not power it. 21 gpm, 9.9 displacement and 2250 psi max would not be big enough? They use smaller pumps than that to run pivot tongue windrowers, why won"t it work on a 6 foot snow blower? What parasitic loses can I expect with a hydraulic drive system?
