The numbers on the head

Top under the valve cover ENG CHG33759 $1 (symbol)
32202b and on the side 52047

Does these help?

Joe

Maybe: What is the overall length of the valve and the head diameter. You will need to get 4 retainers from Deere as well.

Does this tractor/engine have a serial number? If it has a suffix of KD it is likely a KD. If it has an auxillary fuel tank, it would indicate that too.

If the bore is 4 1/4 inches it will almost certainly be a gas head (no point fitting a KD head on the smaller engine as the compression ratio would be even lower than the KD), but sleeves were often changed for the larger KD ones (4 1/2) at refits.

Never any certainty with these old tractors but hope that helps.

I can measure KD head tonight if you require (thickness and combustion chamber depth).

Hello Rich. What casting number do you have? Also what length valves? The model 80 tractors were all gone before I started here in 1960. I do not have much information on them. Thanks. J.

Sorry John,

Technical reasons have stopped me from getting to my 8o heads for a few days. I will try to remember when able.

A reminder in a few days would be good!

Sorry for the delay. The valves were not with the head. I had to get them from my friend.

Overall 6 5/8" head od 1 3/4"

combustion chamber will be 42-43 mm deep on a KD. Quite a bit less on a gas head.
