770 Oliver Power Booster

My dad and I have recently restored a 770 Oliver diesel, shortly after the restore the front seal in the power booster started to leak. Any and all the information I have gathered has pointed us to pulling the motor to get to the seal. It appears we could split the tractor and get to it easier and with less damage to our fresh paint. Has any one ever tried this? Any information on the best way to get to the power booster would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeremiah

No matter which way you do it you have to take the hood off and disconnect all of the controls to the engine. Once you done that it is much easier to just pull the motor. That way you are not running the risk of dropping the front tub and the engine on the ground. I have done a 770 with the same problem we had left the radiator connected to the engine and ever drained worked great. Hoisted the engine up and slid it forward on some blocks while still attached to the hoist. Easy access to the problem. That’s my thoughts.
